Match Report
DSC suffered a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Metro Lions at Lions Den Stadium in a match where the batting order failed to fire collectively.
Sent in to bat after losing the toss, DSC lost early wickets and were in trouble at 35/3 in the powerplay. Rohith Varma played a gutsy innings of 52 off 40 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes, but lacked support from the other end. Raghu Varan Goud chipped in with 22, but the middle and lower order crumbled under pressure, with DSC managing only 134/9.
The Lions' chase was clinical. Their openers put on 68 in the first eight overs, and despite Harsha Sai and Vineeth Thoranala picking up a wicket each, the required rate was never a concern. The Lions reached the target with 16 balls to spare.
A match DSC will want to forget quickly, but Rohith Varma's resilience was a silver lining.
